Morgan Ervin is a strategist, storyteller, and creative visionary with more than three decades of experience helping leaders, brands, and movements step into their future. As Co-Founder and Chief Creative Officer of Prophetic®, he leads a multidisciplinary team that blends strategy, story, and design into futures that organizations can believe in—and build. Over the course of his career, Morgan has guided brand-defining initiatives for 42 of the Fortune 100 and 7 of the 10 most profitable companies in the world, including Apple, HP, Mercedes-Benz, Starbucks, Hubspot, and Lululemon. His work has fueled four IPOs, unlocked billions in enterprise value, and reshaped industries—from healthcare staffing and software to consumer goods and culture.
Achievements
Morgan’s process, called Envisioning, brings executive teams, advisors, and creatives into the same room to author the future together. The results have been transformative:
Aya Healthcare: From steady growth to industry dominance through the world’s first internet reality series, 13 Weeks, which went viral globally and propelled Aya into a billion-dollar brand.
Hedera Hashgraph: Launched from Times Square in 36 days, raising $125M, attracting 80,000+ livestream viewers, and positioning Hedera as “the Facebook of crypto.”
MicroFocus: Branded and launched a $12.9B spin-merger, crafting a new identity and strategy that restored confidence among global sales teams and industry analysts.
Public Square: Guided a five-person startup from a condo office to the largest SPAC of 2023 and a landmark NYSE IPO by reframing the company as a cultural movement, not just an app.
Starbucks: Partnered with Indoteak Design to fulfill Howard Schultz’s mandate for LEED Platinum–certified stores, driving a 16,000-store rollout across Asia, including flagship builds in Cambodia.
Awaken Church: In just nine weeks, authored values, rebranded the largest church in the C3 movement, and designed the rollout that positioned Awaken for explosive growth—even through the challenges of 2020.
Roots
Morgan’s foundation is as a designer, artist, and creative leader. With education from Art Center College of Design, UC San Diego, and San Diego City College, he has worked in print, interactive design, photography, copywriting, and fine art. His early career included design leadership roles at Digital Asylum, Interactivate, Paul Mitchell, and the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego, where he pioneered digital experiences, built creative teams, and directed brand launches across industries.
As an executive creative director, he helped Apple create the Apple Music Awards, helped the City of Vancouver and the International Olympic Comittee envision a thriving post-Olympic Vancouver. He has authored five books. His fine art has been exhibited at Art Basel, Art LA, and is housed in the permanent collections of the Arthur M. and Jill Sackler Collection, The Joan B. Kroc Family Collection, and The Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego.
Philosophy
Morgan believes great strategy and great creativity are inseparable. He describes branding as a torch—something that burns bright enough to pull an organization into the future. His approach begins with honesty, alignment, and vision, and results in stories and strategies that scale—inside cultures, across markets, and into movements.
He is fluent in French, conversant in Spanish, and has collaborated with leaders across continents. Whether in boardrooms or studios, churches or startups, Morgan has built his career on a conviction that clarity and creativity, when joined, can transform not just companies, but culture itself.
Our process consists of four steps: Seeing the future, telling the world, creating believers and attracting investors.Essentially: aligning a team, guiding them through authoring their future, mobilizing people in their organization not just to speak it, but to live it, and achieving growth. The following will reflect the truly unique combination of capabilities that have made us such a valuable partner to some of the world’s most well-known companies and organizations — an ability to implement clear, strategic vision and leadership, execute world class creative, acquire growth capital, and affect lasting change. In other words, we exist to help real products or services find real success in real markets — as opposed to getting them stuck in endless investment cycles.
Permission to Dream
With our guidance, key stakeholders (executive leaders and key board members) collectively envision the future of their organization — essentially authoring a story that will transform promise into reality. It’s a method that uncovers the essence of a brand, place or organization and the philosophical underpinnings which will drive its development and differentiate it in the marketplace. It is equal parts logic, and magic. At its core, this step in our process allows us to dream — asking not just “what is?” but also “what if?”
Permission to Share
After we’ve collectively envisioned our future, and authored our story, we put the word out — expressing this story creatively and strategically in a variety of forms, across a variety of media, and to a variety of audiences.
Permission to Change
Guided by a collective vision and catalyzed by powerful storytelling, our aspirations for the future begin to materialize — inspiring and evangelizing those within our ranks, and those among our target audiences. This is the proverbial proof- and the profit – in the pudding. This phase is not only goal-oriented: “This is who we will become”, but results-oriented: “We’re already on our way”. It is also aesthetic and spiritual — as in: “This is who we really are. We feel better and work more effectively when we are true to this.”
Permission to Thrive
Finally, we reach the point where our clients need institutional capital and a well-equipped sales team in order to fully realize the ultimate, agreed-upon vision —the organization’s true potential.
Here, we connect companies to capital via our experienced financial consultants. Whether a company is looking for additional debt, equity or a change of control transaction, we have all the necessary connections and resources to get the deal done.
